Being Part of Our Pack 2021-2022

Cub Scouting is part of the Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), available to boys and girls from kindergarten through fifth grade, or 5 to 10 years of age and their families. Its membership is the largest of the five main BSA divisions (Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Exploring and Sea Scouting). Cub Scouting is part of the worldwide Scouting movement and aims to promote character development, citizenship training, personal fitness, and leadership.

Theme: Winter Olympics (not required, but one set of awards will be given based on theme.) Den leaders have the pinewood derby kits if you haven't yet received yours. Siblings may also participate; kits for non-Scouts are $10.

Cub Scout Curriculum

Rank Requirements

  • Specific to each den level

  • Must be completed by the end of the calendar year to complete the age rank

Electives

  • Additional age-appropriate activities
  • Do not need to be completed to complete the age rank

Structure of the Program

  • Age-based “adventures”
  • Classroom and neighborhood centered learning
  • Family-centered activities (will have to restrict siblings while under COVID precautions)
  • Den meeting per month
    Set by Den leader
    Parent volunteers needed to keep kids focused
  • 1 Pack meeting per month
    Parent participation with Scout
    One Sunday a month
    2:00-3:00pm
    Outdoor or virtual (to comply with COVID precautions)
  • Often 1-2 Pack activities per month
